#4225 Digestive neuroendocrine tumors – Retrospective study and experience of the general surgery department of EHU Oran

Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumors are rare tumors and represent 1% of all digestive tumors, their incidence has seen a constant increase in recent decades, possibly linked to better diagnostic methods and better knowledge of these tumors. Surgery remains the only curative treatment for localized endocrine tumors. The rarity and heterogeneity of these tumors makes their management difficult and explains the low number of randomized studies and the associated low level of evidence.

#4168 BRCA gene mutations and NEN – Is it just random or a meaningful coincidence?

Introduction: A BRCA mutation denotes a genetic alteration found in either the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes, both of which function as tumor suppressors. BRCA mutations are widely acknowledged for their link to breast and ovarian cancers, and rarely, to other malignancies such as the pancreas and prostate. Noteworthy, there have been limited reports associating BRCA mutations with NEN, and no possible co-relation to certain racial/ethnic populations has been reported to date.

#4096 Co-production of patient information: A model for today’s practice

Introduction: According to the British Medical Association, good quality patient information is fundamental to effective, patient-centred, quality care. It rightly considers patients as partners in their care, “Co-production involves engaging groups of people who use healthcare services, in equal partnership; at the earliest stages of service design, development and evaluation. It acknowledges that people with ‘lived experience’ of a particular condition are often best placed to advise on what support and services will make a positive difference to their lives.” (NHS England) The re-introduction of a liver transplantation programme in the UK for selected patients with a Neuroendocrine Neoplasm offers new opportunities to improve survival and quality of life: good quality information is a key tool for informed consent.

#4000 Prediction of survival for patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) using multivariable cox regression and survival nomograms: Data from National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS, UK) Database

Introduction: Multiple nomograms for predicting survival of NENs from surveillance, epidemiology, and end results (SEER) database have been published. To the best of our knowledge, no survival nomogram has been published from NCRAS database

#3979 New insights into the progression of NET G3 with a focus of NETs with NEC-like transformation

Introduction: Despite increasing knowledge of the clinical and morphomolecular features of NETs G3, little is known about NETs showing NEC-like transformation. Recent studies reported that NETs G3 may share histological and genetic features with NECs, such as TP53 mutations.
