#4597 FIT-NETs: Assessing the effects of an exercise programme on the physical and emotional well-being of patients with advanced G1-2 NETs of GEP or unknown origin

Introduction: Physical activity programs in solid tumours have shown to improve symptom control and even survival, but their impact on NENs remains unexplored. Advanced disease, systemic therapy, and hormonal secretion in these tumours often lead to muscle wasting and sarcopenia.

#4596 Gender and metastatic burden as preoperative predictors of disease progression in patients undergoing surgery for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours with liver metastases

Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour liver metastases (PanNET LM) are traditionally classified into three types based on their distribution. Surgery is generally considered for patients with type I/II LM, while those with type III LM are typically regarded as unresectable. However, type III PanNET LM encompass a wide range of clinical scenarios, some of which may allow surgical resection in selected cases.

#4564 Vasculogenic mimicry in neuroendocrine tumour across different primary sites

Introduction: Anti-angiogenesis treatments targeting VEGFRs, including Surufatinib and Cabozantinib, etc. showed better efficacy for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (NET) than NET of other primary sites. Recent clinical trial targeting tumour necrosis factor receptor-associated protein-1, leading to inhibition of vasculogenic mimicry (VM) showed contrary results to current VEGFRs-targeted treatments. However, VM of NET across different primary sites are yet to be understood.

Introduction: Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are clinically and molecularly diverse, with limited understanding of their tumour biology. Efforts to develop patient-derived models have been unsuccessful, highlighting an urgent need for accurate models to support fundamental research.
