#3072 Rb and p53 Status Determination by Immunochemistry Is Complementary in Routine Practice to Genetic Testing of Neuroendocrine Neoplasms

Introduction: Rb and p53 status may help distinguishing well from poorly differentiated neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) and may predict response to chemotherapy. Studies correlating Rb/p53 genetic and immunohistochemistry were performed on high-quality frozen samples with high throughput techniques efficient for copy number determination. This situation differs from routine practice in which small deletions may be hard to detect on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples with a gene panel approach.

#2810 Development of a Personalized Human Immunocompetent Ex-Vivo Model of Neuroendocrine Liver Metastasis Using Precision Cut Tissue Slice Technology

Introduction: Liver metastasis (LM) are very frequent (65-95%) and represent a crucial prognostic factor in patients with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP NENs). The paucity of relevant experimental models has limited the understanding of the pathophysiology of NENs and the development of efficient therapeutic strategies

#2692 Development of Ex-Vivo Models of Metastatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms

Introduction: The lack of relevant in-vivo and in-vitro models has precluded investigations of the pathophysiology of metastatic NENs. Organotypic tumour slices retain the complexity of tumours in-vivo without extensive manipulation of the tissue.

#2287 Mitochondrial or Aerobic Glycolysis Oriented Metabolism May Define Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (PanNET) Resistance to mTOR-Targeting Therapies

Introduction: The mTOR inhibitor Everolimus is approved for the treatment of PanNET and no predictive biomarker is available. mTOR is a central node controlling mitochondrial and aerobic glycolytic metabolisms.

#2274 Liver Resection for Neuroendocrine Tumors Liver Metastases in Transplantable Patients within the Milan Criteria

Introduction: Liver transplantation (LT) has been prosed as a curative treatment for metastatic gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) but there is a lack of consensus on its real benefit when compared with hepatectomy.
