18F-FDG Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography Positivity in Small Incidentally-Found Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors: Could It Be Considered a Predictor of Malignancy?

#1902

Introduction: Surgical management of small (<2 cm), incidentally found sporadic non functioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PanNETs) is controversial. Normal practice in our Institution is to observe them when asymptomatic, without worrying features at imaging and without uptake at F-PET/CT.

Aim(s): To evaluate the impact of positive F-PET/CT findings in NF-PanNET < 2cm

Materials and methods: Data of patients submitted to pancreatic resection for PanNET from 2010 to 2016 at the Authors Institution were retrospectively reviewed (n=268). We selected incidentally found NF-PanNET < 2 cm, with pre-operative F-PET/CT positivity
