A challenging diagnosis of a neuroendocrine tumor of unknown origin associated with primary aldosteronism
#3538
Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) of unknown primary site account for 10 to 14 percent of all neuroendocrine neoplasms.
Aim(s): We describe a 65-year-old female patient with a 8-year history of papillary thyroid carcinoma treated with total thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine and with uncontrolled hypertension.
Materials and methods: On performing a computed tomography (CT) coronary angiogram, incidental pulmonary nodules were detected in January 2020. The CT scan confirmed the presence of multiple bilateral pulmonary nodules and a right adrenal adenoma. The patient underwent atypical segmentectomy of the right inferior lobe.
