A Matched-Pair Analysis of Conventional Surgical Methods versus Enucleation for Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors

#2171

Introduction: Pancreatoduodenectomy and distal pancreatectomy are still main therapy for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (pNETs).Recently enucleation has also been increasingly used to treat pNETs.

Aim(s): The aim of this paper was to compare the clinical effects of conventional surgery and enucleation for pNETs.

Materials and methods: Clinical data of 106 patients undergoing conventional surgery or enucleation were collected from Dec. 1999 to Jun. 2017.Patients were divided into 53 groups according to related clinical factors such as pathologic grade, tumour location and function. All cases were originated single and less than 2-cm in size. Prognosis, postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) rate,long-term complications, operation time and blood loss were compared between the groups.
