Introduction: Leading societies have established guidelines that vary significantly regarding recommendations for surgical management of pulmonary carcinoids (PC).
Aim(s): Assessment of current guidelines and recommendations for the surgical management of PC, benchmarking of the methodological quality, and identifying factors that may influence their effectiveness in guiding surgical practice.
Materials and methods: Each guideline was evaluated using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation-Surgery (AGREE-S) tool and rated on a seven-point scale for items and domains.
