Angiogenetic Markers as Prognostic Predictors in Neuroendocrine Neoplasms
#3043
Introduction: Neoangiogenesis is crucial for NEN development and metastatization.
Aim(s): To evaluate the role of angiogenetic markers in NEN aggressiveness and prognosis.
Materials and methods: We performed a prospective observational study including 40 patients (pts) with proven NENs and 32 healthy controls (Ctrl) well matched for age, sex, BMI, smoking and comorbidities. Pro-angiogenic factors were measured in serum by ELISA method (soluble sTIE2 and ANG2) and on tissue sections in 10 pts by immunohistochemistry (ANG2, TIE2 and prokineticin peptides-PROKs). Groups were compared using Mann-Witney test.
