Application of novel wound materials in symptom management of patients with neuroendocrine tumours
#4436
Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumours can occur in multiple parts of the body, and management faces challenges.
Aim(s): To explore the application of novel wound materials in the personalised management of symptoms in patients with neuroendocrine tumours.
Materials and methods: In clinical care of patients with various types of neuroendocrine tumours, common issues such as facial and bilateral lower limb oedema, perianal and perineal incontinence-associated dermatitis, scrotal oedema, and leakage from chest and abdominal drainage tubes were addressed. Personalised care was provided using Kinesio Tape, self-adhesive elastic bandages, hydrocolloid dressings, foam dressings, ostomy bags, ostomy powder, skin barrier films, tampons, and manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) techniques.
