Application of somatostatin receptor PET/CT in assisting preoperative lymph node evaluation and surgical decision-making for duodenal and pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms
#4394
Introduction: Preoperative precise staging of lymph nodes is crucial for determining surgical approach and extent for duodenal and pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (DP-NENs), especially for small (≤2cm) DP-NENs.
Aim(s): This study aimed to explore the role of 68Ga-somatostatin receptor (SSTR) PET/CT in preoperative LN evaluation and surgical decision-making for DP-NENs.
Materials and methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with DP-NENs who had undergone 68Ga-SSTR PET/CT and contrast-enhanced CT (ceCT) before surgery and received LN dissection in two medical centres in China. The number, region, size, and metastasis status of LNs were reviewed through imaging and pathology results. All gold standards were based on pathology. The diagnostic efficacy and factors related to 68Ga-SSTR PET/CT and ceCT performance were analysed.
