Cavum neuroendocrine carcinoma

#3449

Introduction: Small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the head and neck is an unusual entity, especially in the cavum, given their rarity and the lack of randomized trials. The therapeutic management of these tumors is difficult. Their prognosis remains unfavourable.

Aim(s): We report the observation of a 42-year-old patient, with no particular history, who consulted for disorders of consciousness associated with nasal obstruction progressing for more than two months. Brain MRI showed a large tumor mass cavum with endocranial extension whose biopsy and after reading revealed a poorly differentiated basophilic round cell malignant tumor process. Complement by immunohistochemical study returned in favour of a high labelling of CD56 +, P16 +, CKA +, Ki 67+ at 80%, which is consistent with neuroendocrine small cell carcinoma.
