CHGA and DAXX/ATRX expression influence the outcome of pancreatic head neuroendocrine tumors

#4130

Introduction: In the past two years a difference between pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET) located in the head and body/tail regarding biological characteristics and clinical outcomes was described.

Aim(s): Our aim is to characterize pNET concerning protein expression and influence of their outcome depending on their location.

Materials and methods: We analysed a tissue microarray (TMA) compromising among others 58 pNET samples. Slides were stained for chromogranin A (CHGA), somatostatin receptor 2 (SSTR2), DAXX, ATRX, pSTAT3. We conducted a retrospective, follow-up cohort analysis of these patients. Further endpoints were overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS).
