Clinical Epidemiology Study of Rectal Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in China: A National Multicenter 10-Year Retrospective Study

Introduction: Representative data on the rectal neuroendocrine neoplasms in Chinese patients is rare.
Aim(s): The aim of this study was to illustrate the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of rectal neuroendocrine neoplasms in China.
Materials and methods: Based on a nation-wide multicenter 10-year (2001-2010) retrospective study on gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms in China, we collected 2010 consecutive inpatients in the 23 selected hospitals from 7 geographic regions. Rectal neuroendocrine neoplasms cases with pathology confirmed were included in this study.
