Clinical management of neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) in the time of COVID-19
#3311
Introduction: The current SARS-CoV-2 virus epidemic is an exceptional global health situation, very serious for already fragile patients such as cancer patients. These patients are at much higher risk (4 to5 times) of severe respiratory complications, which develop very quickly, especially since they will have received surgery or chemotherapy in the preceding weeks, putting their vital prognosis at risk, in addition to the risk of cancer «double jeopardy».
Aim(s): The objective of our work is to describe the preventive measures put in place within the Department of Medical Oncology in Oran University Hospital (EHUO) and to collect data about patients with neuroendocrine and COVID-19.
Materials and methods: A survey with 20 doctors was sent to NEN-dedicated ouest referent centers regarding the management of patients in the period April 9, 2020, to October 2020.
