Compare the optimal TNM staging of resectable functional and non-functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors
#3944
Introduction: At present, the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) and the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) are two main tumor TNM staging systems. However, the ENETS and AJCC TNM staging systems are different in some aspects when applied to p-NETs.
Aim(s): To compare the prognostic value of ENETS 2006 staging system and AJCC 8th staging system in patients with functional p-NETs and non-functional p-NETs, in order to determine a more accurate and practical staging system.
Materials and methods: A total of 165 patients with pathologically confirmed p-NETs who underwent surgical resection in West China Hospital of Sichuan University from January 2016 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression model were used to analyze the overall survival time and prognosis, and to explore the possible prognostic predictors of functional and non-functional p-NETs.
