Comparison of 18F-DOPA PET/CT and 68Ga-DOTATOC PET/CT and their impact on response to PRRT in midgut neuroendocrine tumours

#4635

Introduction: 18F-DOPA PET/CT is a powerful diagnostic test for assessing tumour burden in midgut neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). 68Ga-DOTATOC PET/CT is required for patient selection for PRRT.

Aim(s): The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of visualised tumour burden on 18F-DOPA PET/CT compared to 68Ga-DOTATOC in patients treated with PRRT.

Materials and methods: Patients with midgut NETs who underwent 18F-DOPA and 68Ga-DOTATOC PET scans in the year prior to PRRT were retrospectively evaluated. Tumour uptake on the two imaging modalities was compared visually and patients were divided into Group 1 (G1): DOPA ≥DOTATOC) and Group 2 (G2): DOPA < DOTATOC. Response was defined according to RECIST1.1 after C2 (n=20/25 patients) and after C4 (n=15/25).
