Correlation of loss of ATRX expression with scintigraphic imaging studies in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms

#3524

Introduction: Somatic inactivating mutations of ATRX (α thalassemia/mental retardation syndrome X-linked) in pancreatic neoplasms (pNENs) are associated with aggressive phenotype and are considered an independent prognostic factor of poor overall survival.

Aim(s): The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation of ATRX loss, as assessed by immunohistochemistry, with scintigraphic imaging data in patients with pNENs.

Materials and methods: We collected retrospectively the data of patients with pNENs in whom immunohistochemistry for ATRX loss was performed and we evaluated the relationship of genetic alterations with nuclear imaging studies.
