Cutaneous Merkel Cell Carcinoma Treatment: Our Experience
#703
Introduction: Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare neuroendocrine tumor of the skin.
Aim(s): While uncommon, the incidence is increasing. The benign appearance of the tumor usually, contrasting with its estensive microscopic invasion, can delay timely diagnosis.
Materials and methods: Twenty-one patients with MCC were observed at the Rare Tumor Group of Cagliari “Businco” Hospital between 2001 and 2012. Patients, tumor and treatment characteristics were collected and analysed.
