Defining disease status in gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors: Choi criteria or RECIST?

#3404

Introduction: Adequate monitoring of changes in tumor load is fundamental for the assessment of disease evolution and response to treatment. There is an ongoing debate on the utility of RECIST v1.1 in gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs).

Aim(s): To compare the utility of Choi-criteria with RECIST v1.1 for follow up GEP-NET patients in daily clinical practice.

Materials and methods: We evaluated the agreement between both criteria per consecutive scan and at final follow up, and the association with survival endpoints.
