Delayed gastric emptying in autoimmune metaplastic atrophic gastritis

#3359

Introduction: Symptoms of patients diagnosed with autoimmune metaplastic atrophic gastritis (AMAG) are not specific. Some patients may present symptoms of delayed gastric emptying.

Aim(s): This study aims to investigate the characteristics of gastric emptying in AMAG patients compared with patients with functional dyspepsia who had a gastric emptying study (control group).

Materials and methods: A total of 33 AMAG patients (23 females) and 11 control group patients (7 females) were enrolled in this study. All the patients underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and a standardized scintigraphic gastric emptying study.
