Diagnosis of a cervical carotid paraganglioma: A case report and review of diagnostic imaging approaches

#4577

Introduction: Cervical paragangliomas are rare, often non-secreting tumours of neuroectodermal origin. Their diagnosis can be challenging due to the variability of clinical presentations and the diagnostic tests required.

Aim(s): This case report aims to present a carotid paraganglioma and discuss the diagnostic approaches used.

Materials and methods: A 43-year-old female presented with a right-sided cervical mass. Diagnostic workup included clinical evaluation, laboratory tests, and imaging studies: cervical ultrasound, CT, MIBG scintigraphy, and octreoscan scintigraphy.
