Differences in plasma concentrations of selected growth factors in endocrine neoplasms – A pilot study
#4337
Introduction: Serum levels of growth factors associated with endocrine tumours may be potentially useful in detecting their recurrence.
Aim(s): Evaluation if plasma concentrations of selected growth factors differ between healthy subjects and those with disseminated endocrine tumours.
Materials and methods: 43 patients with disseminated endocrine neoplasm [neuroendocrine tumour (NET) 30, medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) 6, adrenal npl 7 cases] and 25 participants of healthy control group were included into analysis. Serum levels of TNF-α, Fascin, VEGF, Galectin-1, Galectin-3, FGF were determined in all patients. The results of biochemical analysis were compared between groups.
