Different patterns of recurrence after liver resection and transplantation for metastatic neuroendocrine tumors. Single center ecperience

#3506

Introduction: Liver metastases (NELM) occur in nearly half of NET pts, 80%are unresectable, and affect their prognosis. Surgery remains the most effective option; curative liver resection (LR) and liver transplantation (LT) offer the best long-term outcomes with difficult to show outcome differences due to the long course of the disease. The risk of tumor recurrence is considerable after both approaches.

Aim(s): To compare different patterns of recurrence for these two groups.

Materials and methods: Data from all consecutive pts who underwent curative LT or LR between 1996 and 2019 were retrospectively analysed.
