Efficacy of Transarterial Chemoembolization of Liver Metastases from Neuroendocrine Tumors

#785

Introduction: Most patients with neuroendocrine tumors present with liver involvement at the time of diagnosis. Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) is a method of treatment of non-resectable liver metastases which is effective in the control of symptoms and tumor growth.

Aim(s): To investigate clinical outcome of patients treated with TACE. To evaluate the clinical outcome, radiological, biological, and symptomatic response.

Materials and methods: We analyzed 17 (seven male/10 female) patients with carcinoid tumors (12 small bowel, five bronchial) who underwent 65 TACE procedures (mean of four sessions for a patient).
