Endoscopic ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation versus surgical resection for the treatment of pancreatic insulinoma – A multicenter propensity score-matched study
#3614
Introduction: EUS-guided radiofrequency ablation (EUS-RFA) is emerging as safe and effective treatment for pancreatic neoplasms.
Aim(s): To compare EUS-RFA and surgery for the treatment of pancreatic insulinoma (PI).
Materials and methods: Patients with sporadic PI who underwent EUS-RFA (23 centers) or surgical resection (8 high-volume institutions) between 2014 and 2022 were identified and outcomes compared after propensity-matching analysis. Primary outcome was safety. Adverse events (AEs) were defined and graded according to international definitions. Secondary outcomes were efficacy, hospital stay, and rate of recurrence with need for additional treatment after EUS-RFA.
