Evaluation of Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) and Systemic Immune–Inflammation Index (SII) as potential biomarkers in patients with sporadic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET)
#4059
Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) are rare neoplasm in which the investigation of new biomarkers is essential. An elevated Neutrophile to Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet to Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) and Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII) has been proposed as a negative prognostic factor in several neoplasms, but their role in pNET is unclear.
Aim(s): Evaluate the potential role of NLR, PLR and SII as biomarkers in a monocentric series of patients with sporadic pNET.
Materials and methods: Clinical data of patients with sporadic pNET, referred to NET Unit of Federico II University of Naples (ENETS CoE) from 2012 to 2023, were retrospectively evaluated analyzing pre- and post-operative NLR, PLR and SII values.
