Expanding the WHO 2017 Classification to Gastrointestinal Tumors: Real-World Data from the R-GETNE Registry
#2299
Introduction: The update of the WHO 2017 classification of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) introduces the distinction between NET & NEC G3, based on histological differentiation. However, little is known about the possibility of extending this concept to non-pancreatic NETs.
Aim(s): This analysis sought to assess the extension of the WHO 2017 classification to non-pancreatic NETs.
Materials and methods: Patients come from the R-GETNE registry. Survival was performed using Kaplan-Meier method. The additive effect of histological differentiation (well vs. poorly differentiated) and the Ki-67% index were evaluated by Cox regression, adjusted for confounding covariates (age, sex, TNM), and stratified by tumor location.
