Follow-up 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT post resection of small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasia
#4474
Introduction: Surgery remains the mainstay of treatment for resectable neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs). Post resection, guidelines suggest a risk-based approach to surveillance, with 3-6 monthly imaging based on tumour biology. However, there is a paucity of data regarding the timing of surveillance imaging for resected well-differentiated NEN.
Aim(s): To assess the yield of 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT after complete resection of well-differentiated small bowel NEN (SBNEN).
Materials and methods: Retrospective study of patients who underwent 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT within 18 months of complete resection of the SBNEN, with no evidence of metastatic disease on pre-operative imaging. All scans were independently read by two readers with a third reader if discordant results.
