Ga68-DOTATATE imaging on a state-of-the-art total-body PET/CT scanner with reducing administered activity
#4343
Introduction: Long-field of view PET/CT scanners allows total body scanning resulting higher sensitivity than traditional PET/CT scanners offering possible lower dose and faster scans.
Aim(s): To evaluate the feasibility of reducing administered tracer activity on a total-body scanner in patients undergoing Ga-68 DOTATATE PET/CT for neuroendocrine tumours.
Materials and methods: We evaluated Ga-68 DOTATATE images on Siemens Biograph Quadra (Quadra) compared with Siemens Biograph Vision (Vision). Following preliminary re-binning of data in patients administered 100-150MBq of Ga-68 DOTATATE on the Quadra, we established 0.75MBq/Kg would be feasible on the whole-body Quadra camera (minimum of 50MBq was selected). Data was evaluated in 21 consecutive patients with a prior PET/CT on Vision (4minutes/bed position+5mins for liver bed) reconstructed with TrueX +TOF had a follow-up Ga68 DOTATATE PET/CT on the Quadra (10 minutes vertex to thighs acquisition) reconstructed with TrueX +TOF. We compared the injected activity, weight, body mass index and image quality using signal to noise ratio (SNR) between these two studies.
