Gender differences in patients with medullary thyroid cancer (MTC): A single-centre experience

Introduction: Medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) accounts for 3-5% of thyroid tumours. It can be sporadic or associated with genetic syndrome. The role of gender in the MTC isn’t clarified.

Aim(s): This study aims precisely to analyse gender differences in MTC to identify potential prognostic factors, to improve patient follow-up and therapeutic strategies.

Materials and methods: Retrospective analysis was conducted on patients with sporadic MTC referred to ENETS CoE of the University Federico II of Naples between 2005 and 2024.
