Incidence patterns and clinical implications of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients (pts) with neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN)
#4062
Introduction: VTE is a significant complication in oncology and one of the primary causes of cancer-related mortality. Few studies have addressed VTE in pts with NEN, with an estimated incidence of 7.5% in the literature. Nevertheless, there is no evidence from large datasets.
Aim(s): We analyzed the incidence and treatment of VTE in NET.
Materials and methods: Consecutive pts with NEN treated in our institution between 2017 and 2022 were selected to study the incidence of VTE including deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolisms (PE) and splanchnic venous thrombosis (SVT). Information regarding clinical characteristics, follow up and VTE treatment were collected.
