Insulinoma – A diagnostic challenge
#4321
Introduction: Insulinomas are rare pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (pNEN). Operative resection is the treatment of choice.
Aim(s): We report a case of a 51-year-old female showing clinical signs of an insulinoma, but no identifiable lesion upon cross-sectional imaging.
Materials and methods: Our patient first presented with seizures and was treated for epilepsy for 3 years. Further diagnostics eventually revealed severe hypoglycaemia and a pathological fastening test. The patient was thus referred to our centre.
