Interest of systematic resection of the visible scar, after incomplete endoscopic resection of rectal neuroendocrine tumors

#3609

Introduction: Rectal Neuroendocrine tumors (r-NET) can often be misidentified as diminutive polyps, leading to inappropriate resection technique. When the initial resection is not R0, the persistence of a local residue could lead to a disease recurrence.

Aim(s): This study evaluated the interest of systematic evaluation and resection of the scar.

Materials and methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of all the consecutive endoscopic revision and resection of the scar after non R0 resection of low-risk R-NET (< 10 mm, G1, no lymphovascular or muscular invasion).
