Just a matter of weight? Final results from NUTRIGETNE study in patients with Gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (NENs)

Introduction: Cancer and its treatment may have a dual impact on nutrition and physical performance.

Aim(s): We aimed to describe the nutritional and physical status of patients with advanced GEP NENs in Spain.

Materials and methods: Cross-sectional study that included patients with GEP-NENs at a metastatic/unresectable stage and active oncological treatment. Patients had a complete physical examination, anthropometry, bioelectrical impedance, dynamometry, laboratory analysis, and nutritional risk assessment Malnutrition was defined according to GLIM criteria. The study included 399 patients out of the 400 planned (Pearson’s χ2; α 0.05).
