Long-term outcomes for medically managed carcinoid heart disease patients: A retrospective, longitudinal survey
#4105
Introduction: Carcinoid Heart Disease (CHD) is a component of carcinoid syndrome. Patients with mild to moderate CHD and no indication for surgical intervention receive medical management (MMCHD).
Aim(s): To assess long-term outcomes in patients with MMCHD and review the Neuroendocrine Tumor (NET) and CHD-specific factors affecting progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).
Materials and methods: Premorbid status (age, comorbidities), NET disease factors (grade, liver burden, biochemistry), CHD data (severity, symptoms) and the treatments received were recorded and retrospectively analysed. Relationships between OS and above factors were assessed via univariate analysis.
