Management and surveillance for rectal neuroendocrine tumors: A single-centre retrospective analysis and comparison with ENETS guidelines

#3988

Introduction: Rectal neuroendocrine tumors (rNETs) are rare but are increasing in incidence. Current management and surveillance recommendations are primarily based on low-grade evidence.

Aim(s): This retrospective study analyses our centre’s experience with rNETs to assess incidence, management, outcomes, & adherence to 2023 ENET surveillance recommendations.

Materials and methods: This is a single-centre retrospective study from QLD, Australia, spanning from 2012-2023. 28 met inclusion criteria. Examined parameters included incidence, management, outcomes, & adherence to ENETS follow-up guidelines. Rate of R1 resection at initial endoscopy was assessed & the association between R1 resection and rNET recognition & endoscopic resection technique was analysed.
