Methylmalonic acid activates INHBA induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition and promotes the cancer progression by TGF-β signalling pathway in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm

#3713

Introduction: Metabolic reprogramming is a well-recognized hallmark of cancer progression, especially the process of tumor metastasis. However, the role of metabolic alteration and its potential mechanism in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm (pNEN) with metastasis remain elusive.

Aim(s): The aim of this study was to ascertain the metabolic alteration in metastasis of pNEN and investigate the underlying mechanisms.

Materials and methods: Targeted Metabolomics of serum was used to explore the metabolic changes of metastatic pNEN. Functional assays were used to ascertain which upregulated metabolite was related to tumor progression. RNA-seq was conducted to explore the potential mechanisms.
