Minimal Risk of Persistent or Recurrent Hypoglycemia after MEN1-Related Insulinoma Surgery. A Large International Cohort Study

Introduction: Current literature states that 15-30% of the MEN1 patients suffer from hypoglycemia after insulinoma surgery.
Aim(s): To determine the optimal surgical strategy to treat MEN1 related insulinomas.
Materials and methods: A total of 96 MEN1 patients with insulinomas underwent surgery between 1990-2015 at one of the 46 participating hospitals from Europe and North America. Post-operative hypoglycemia, complications, and pancreatic insufficiency were captured.
