Natural History of Atypical Carcinoid of Lung After Surgery

#749

Introduction: The natural history of atypical carcinoid (AC) is poorly known.

Aim(s): To determine the disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) of sporadic non-metastatic lung AC after surgery.

Materials and methods: This retrospective study involved 82 consecutive patients surgically treated (R0) between 1998-2008 for AC in two Italian and French expert networks. Slides were reviewed by two expert pathologists to validate the definition of AC (WHO 2004).
