Neuroendocrine neoplasms of gall bladder, Peruvian experience

Introduction: Neuroendocrine neoplasms of the gall bladder (GB) are rare tumors classified as neuroendocrine tumor (NET), neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC), and mixed adeno-neuroendocrine carcinoma (MANEC).
Aim(s): To evaluate neuroendocrine neoplasms of the GB for their clinical behaviour and treatment received.
Materials and methods: From 2008 to 2013, 12 patients with gallbladder carcinoma were treated surgically in the Department of Abdomen Surgery. In the present study, clinical data from these 12 patients were analysed to summarize clinical presentations, type of surgical treatment, and chemotherapy received.
