Neuroendocrine prostate cancer: About 4 cases

Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumors of the prostate are rare entities with a very poor prognosis. They can be pure (small or large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma) or mixed. They do not express prostate specific antigen (PSA) or the androgen receptor. Their treatment is based only on chemotherapy based on platinum for the advanced forms.
Aim(s): The aim of this study is to evaluate 4 cases of neuroendocrine tumors of the prostate observed in the Medical Oncology Department of the 1st November 1954 Hospital of Oran from 2014 to 2021.
Materials and methods: Retrospective study of 4 patients with neuroendocrine prostate tumors, whose diagnosis was based on histological and immunohistological analysis of prostate biopsies.
