Neuroendocrine tumors associated with ovarian teratoma – One centre experience
#3375
Introduction: Ovarian teratomas are frequent gynaecological finding in contrary to ovarian NETs which comprise only 0.1% of all ovarian neoplasms. In contrast to other gynaecological organs like cervix, endometrium vagina or vulva in which the common type of NENs is NECs, in case of ovarian carcinoid the prognosis remains good.
Aim(s): The aim of the study was to assess the clinical outcome of patients with postoperative diagnosis of NET in ovarian teratoma.
Materials and methods: Patients with diagnose of NET in ovary teratoma confirmed in histopathology according to WHO classification (2017 or 2019) were included to the study. In all cases the diagnosis was established after surgery. The follow-up examination included gynaecological examinations with transvaginal ultrasound every 6-12 moths, and abdominal ultrasound or abdominal and pelvic CT performed 4-6 months after surgery and later every 12 months.
