Neuroendocrine tumors in the stomach: An epidemiological analysis of Belgian Cancer Registry data
#4026
Introduction: GEP-NEN are rare and heterogeneous tumors including NET, NEC and MiNEN. NET are classified based on mitotic activity and Ki-67 index (G1, 2 and 3), NEC are always high grade (G3). Gastric NEN should be clinically subtyped as this has therapeutic implications (type 1, 2 and 3).
Aim(s): The aim of this research project was to map the epidemiology of gNEN in Belgium, with specific attention to the distribution of demographic and clinical characteristics.
Materials and methods: This is a national cohort study on the epidemiology of gNEN in Belgium from 2010-2019, analyzing patient data from the Belgian Cancer Registry (BCR).
