Nodal recurrence after curative surgery for non-functioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors: A retrospective cohort study

#3584

Introduction: Nodal recurrence occurs in a significant proportion of patients submitted to curative surgery for non-functioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PanNETs). However, its determinants have been poorly investigated.

Aim(s): 1) To compare clinico-pathological features between patients with different recurrence patterns, 2) to identify predictors of nodal relapse after curative surgery for NF-PanNETs.

Materials and methods: All consecutive patients (n=321) submitted to curative surgery for NF-PanNETs at San Raffaele Hospital (2003-2020) were included. Nodal recurrence was defined in the presence of ≥1 enlarged LN at high-quality radiological examinations and was always confirmed by 68Ga-PET or biopsy.
