Nutritional assessment for predicting clinical evolution in gastro-enteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors
#3149
Introduction: Patients with neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) might present with malnutrition due to the tumor itself and/or its treatment. Poor nutritional status and weight loss can lead to poor outcomes, including decreased quality of life, increased complication rates and mortality. Furthermore, the impact of body mass index (BMI) as a relevant risk factor for NETs development is currently a very debated topic as data regarding nutritional status in NETs patients are very limited.
Aim(s): To evaluate the nutritional status of patients with gastroenteropancreatic (GEP)-NETs and its relation with the clinical outcome of the patient.
Materials and methods: We analysed the relation between nutritional parameters with the clinical evolution of GEP-NETs.
