Outcome of NET Liver Metastases Treated by TAE Using Microspheres

#2786

Introduction: Liver metastases are common in patients with neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), which are associated with the prognosis. Transarterial embolization (TAE) is one of the options for selective therapy in patients with multiple unresectable progressive liver metastases after chemotherapy.

Aim(s): To evaluate the clinical outcome, overall survival of multiple unresectable progressive liver metastases in NET patients treated with TAE using microspheres.

Materials and methods: A retrospective review was performed of 8 patients (mean age 52.1 years, 50.0% male) treated with TAE using 300-500μm microspheres in our hospital from 2018 to 2019. Parameters we evaluated included: primary site, tumor grade, lobar versus selective embolization, initial response by mRECIST, complications of TAE, time to progression and overall survival.
