Pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma: Gender differences in lipid profile

#4100

Introduction: Pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) are rare neuroendocrine neoplasms potentially influencing lipid metabolism and increasing cardiovascular risk. Gender differences in PPGL are largely unknown.

Aim(s): Evaluate gender differences in lipid profile in PPGL patients to improve management and follow-up.

Materials and methods: Retrospective analysis was conducted on patients referred between 2013 and 2023 to the ENETS CoE of the University Federico II of Naples. Sex, genetic mutations and lipid profile at diagnosis were evaluated. Patients with mutations but no evidence of PPGL were excluded.
