Portal vein resection in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms

#4143

Introduction: Surgery offers the only cure in borderline resectable or locally advanced neuroendocrine neoplasms of the pancreas (pNEN). Data on incidence and postresection outcome of portal vein resection (PVR) for pNEN are scarce.

Aim(s): This study aimed to analyse outcome and prognostic factors of PVR in pNEN surgery.

Materials and methods: Patients were identified from a prospectively collected database. PVR was classified according to the International Study Group of Pancreatic Surgery (ISGPS). Clinicopathological features, overall (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) were assessed and compared to standard resection (SR) in matched-pair analysis.
