Prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms and disorders in neuroendocrine neoplasms: A systematic review and meta-analysis
#4004
Introduction: Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) represent a heterogeneous and rare category of tumors. Currently, the prevalence of anxiety and depression among NEN population remains unknown.
Aim(s): This study aims to investigate the prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms and disorders in individuals diagnosed with NENs.
Materials and methods: Ten databases were searched from their inception to November 2023, which include PubMed, Psycinfo, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, China Science and Technology Journal Database, Sinomed, Yiigle Database and Wanfang Database. Case-control, cohort, and cross-sectional studies on the prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms or disorders in patients with NENs were eligible. Two reviewers independently screened articles and extracted data. For the quality assessment, the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale was used to evaluate case-control and cohort studies, while JBI Critical Appraisal Tools were utilized for assessing the quality of cross-sectional studies. A random-effects meta-analysis was performed to estimate the pooled prevalence.
