Prognostic impact of primary tumour location after resection of neuroendocrine liver metastases from gastroenteropancreatic tumours
#4558
Introduction: Little evidence however exists regarding the prognostic impact of localisation of the primary tumour in case of neuroendocrine liver metastasis (NELM).
Aim(s): The aim of this study was to investigate whether primary tumour location (pancreas versus gastrointestinal, GI) has an impact on oncological outcomes after LR for NELM.
Materials and methods: We retrospectively analysed from a prospectively collected institutional database all patients who underwent liver resections (LR) for NELM with curative intent. Patients were stratified according to the location of the primary tumour (pancreatic vs. GI) and their survival outcomes analysed.
